If you're like me you use your coffee every morning, sometimes more. But how often do you remember to clean it? After about months of daily use, electric coffee makers can begin to look pretty dirty inside. Worse, you can not even see all the parts that the water passes through, as the hosesize. There is only one way to make sure it is clean, and is by cleaning it occasionally.

Some people advocate using bleach or other harmful chemicals. I try not to use those things when I'm dealing with something that's going to drink. You can buy tablets specifically designed for cleaning Coffee Makers at the supermarket or online, but I prefer to just do it myself the old fashioned way. Fortunately, there are other options that do not involve the use of chemicals. In my opinion the best way to clean your coffee machine is Fill the pot of coffee that accompanies the machine with 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Just to use cheap white vinegar. Then pour this mixture in the holding of the coffee machine and turn it on deposit. Place the pot in place and wait to be filled.

Once done, pour the mixture of water and vinegar in the sink and fill the pot with regular tap water. Run this through the machine, and discard it later. Repeat this process once more (once with vinegar, and twice with water only). When it was over, the smell inside the brewer. Can you still smell the vinegar or other odors? If not, then you're ready to go. If you still smell the vinegar, run clean water through the machine two times, and that should do the trick.

It also helps to keep your coffee maker clean if you remove the filter and wash out quickly. Too often, people forget and leave the past in the coffee machine for a day or two. It's easy to overlook this in a hurry to get to work on time. If you remove the grounds quickly, a rinse easy is all you need to do. Moreover, once the beans have been sitting there all day, the filter is stained and really scrub to return to its original color.
